The ensemble “Grandinėlė”, which has been in existence since 1978, brings together young dancers who want to uphold the traditions of folk dance. The ensemble has performed at 20 Republican, Schoolchildren and World Lithuanian Song Festivals, more than a hundred international dance festivals in Europe and around the world, and has won many awards. Currently the ensemble consists of 4 dance groups of different ages from 1st to 12th grade. Here, young people discover the joy of dance, nurture their talents and build community. Ensemble leader:
Zita Rimkuvienė, Lithuanian cultural icon, choreographer, ballet teacher. Founder of the children’s and youth dance ensemble “Grandinėlė” (1978) and the dance collective “Linas” (1980), which she still leads. 2012 m. For her merits in the field of culture and art, she was nominated by the Panevėžys City Municipality as “Panevėžys Citizen of the Year” and in 2022 she was awarded the Gabrielė Petkevičačaitė-Bitė Commemorative Medal of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, “Serve Lithuania”. Her credo: “Dance is the radiance of the soul, which says more than the most beautiful words…”
