“TeatroManai” is back!
The “TeatroManai” amateur theater festival is back at the Panevėžys Cultural Center, inviting you to experience theater, diverse stories, and their creators.
This year’s festival kicks off with a performance by the amateur theater troupe of the Miežiškiai branch of the Panevėžys District Cultural Center: “Without You, I’m Like a Person Without a Front Tooth,” based on K. Čiplis-Vijūnas’s comedy “The Grandmothers Quarrel” and stories from the people of Miežiškiai.
Kazimieras Čiplis-Vijūnas’ comedy was written nearly a century ago, yet the themes it explores are still very much recognizable today. Rumors, gossip, and huge problems that grow out of minor misunderstandings—all of this is presented in the play with humor, inviting the audience not only to laugh at the characters but also, at times, to recognize themselves.
The Miežiškis Amateur Theater has enriched the play with local jokes, entertaining stories, and catchy songs—to make it more fun, more authentic, and more genuine.
